Liberty Defeats Women's Tennis 6-1

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Devon Cavanaugh won in straight sets but Liberty was able to win the rest of the matches as the Flames captured a share of the Big South Conference regular-season title with a 6-1 league win over UNC Asheville Friday afternoon at the Crowne Plaza Tennis Center.

Cavanaugh won her 10th singles match of the year and improved to 3-3 in league play as she won in straight sets at #3 flight over Cameron Richard, 6-1, 6-3.

The Bulldogs match with Liberty ended the regular season for Asheville. They will play again next Thursday at the Big South Conference Tournament at Winthorp.
