ASHEVILLE, N.C. - A short-handed UNC Asheville women's tennis team gave East Carolina all it wanted in singles match but the Pirates were able to capture three singles matches en route to a 6-0 victory over the Bulldogs Saturday night at the Crowne Plaza Tennis Center.
Asheville had Britney Cloer, Stephanie Schon and Zoe Hamel take their opponents to three sets but just could not pull out a win. The Bulldogs only had five players due to Devon Cavanaugh's injury. Due to East Carolina's travel plans, singles was played first and doubles was not played with the Pirates clinching the match.
