ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville women's soccer team gets back in action Tuesday afternoon at Greenwood Field when the Bulldogs host Big South foe Presbyterian College starting at 3 p.m. Admission is free.
Asheville (2-9-0, 1-1-0 BSC) is playing much better than at the start of the season. The Bulldogs have their two wins in the last four matches and opened BSC play with a 3-1 victory at VMI last Thursday afternoon. Asheville battled Big South power Radford on the Saturday night but fell 1-0 on a goal in the first minute of play.
Second-year coach Michelle Demko's club hopes to keep the momentum going against the Blue Hose on Tuesday. PC will enter Tuesday's match with a 2-8-1 worksheet and 0-1-1 mark in league. Like Asheville, the Blue Hose are playing better after struggling in the early part of the year. Presbyterian College is 2-1-1 in its last four matches and tied VMI on Saturday, 1-1.
"We just need to keep getting better and better with each match," commented Demko. "Our team had a nice win at VMI and battled hard at Radford."
The Blue Hose won last year's match with a 3-0 victory in Clinton. Asheville had won the previous three meetings with PC.
