ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville women's soccer team is home on Saturday when the Bulldogs host Charleston Southern in a key Big South Conference battle at Greenwood Field starting at Noon.  Saturday's match will be video-streamed and can be seen for a small fee at www.uncabulldogs.com.

Asheville (3-11-0, 2-3-0 BSC) is trying to bounce back after a tough 1-0 home loss to Coastal Carolina Thursday afternoon at Greenwood Field. The Chanticleers scored in the first minute of play and made that goal stand up for the win.

The Bulldogs take on Buccaneer team (7-6-0, 2-3-0) that knocked off Presbyterian College on the road Thursday, 2-0.

The Lady Bucs have owned the series against Asheville over the past few years. CSU whipped the Bulldogs, 8-0 in Charleston last season. Asheville does not have a home win against the Bucs since the 2003 season. Since 2005, CSU is 5-2-1 against the Bulldogs. The only two wins came in the 2006 season, once during the season and once during the Big South Conference Tournament.

Asheville continues to show improvement from last season as the Bulldogs were just 1-16-0 last year. Five of Asheville's last six losses have come by just one goal.

Freshman forward Kaitlyn Eckert continues to lead the Bulldogs in scoring with five goals and 13 points. Sophomore Amanda Knapp is next with four goals and 11 points. Both players have three assists.  Freshman goalkeeper Heather Muller has played every minute of every match this season.
