09.05.2010 | Women's Soccer

COOKEVILLE, TENN. - Tennessee Tech got goals from three different players as the Golden Eagles defeated UNC Asheville 3-1 in women's college soccer action Sunday afternoon.

The match was scoreless at halftime before TTU (1-4-0) scored two goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half to go up 2-0.

Asheville (0-3-0) rallied late in the match to get within a goal when Ferriss Roberts scored her first career goal to cut the lead to 2-1. Roberts' unassisted goal came at 85:08.

But  the Golden Eagles sealed the win with a goal from Kris Cambron with 50 seconds left in the match to win 3-1 and end a two-game winless streak against the Bulldogs.

Asheville goalkeeper Megan Dent did a good job for the Bulldogs as she made six saves in the game, three in each half. TTU held a 20-6 advantage in shots for the match.

Asheville plays on the road again on Thursday evening (Sept. 9) when the Bulldogs play at Elon starting at 6 p.m.
