Men's Soccer Falls at Lipscomb, 2-0

NASHVILLE, TENN. - Garrett McLaughlin scored twice within a two-minute of the second half to lead Lipscomb to a 2-0 victory over visiting UNC Asheville Friday night in the first round of the Hyatt Place Select Invitational.
The Bulldogs (2-2-0) were out-shot 15-5 in the game. Asheville goalkeeper Lassi Hurskainen made four saves in the match.
Jake Hagedorn and Branden Lassen had two shots each for the Bulldogs.
The game was scoreless for most of the match until McLaughlin broke through. He hit a shot from just outside the box for a 1-0 Bison lead at 70:43.
Just over two minutes later Asheville was called for a foul in the box and Lipscomb was awarded a penalty kick. McLaughlin took the PK and scored to give the home team a 2-0 advantage.
The Bulldogs play again on Sunday as they'll face Belmont at 2 p.m. CST.
