ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville women's soccer team is home this Friday afternoon when the Bulldogs host mountain rival Western Carolina at Greenwood Field starting at 4 p.m. Admission is free.

Friday's match will be video-streamed and can be seen for a small fee at www.uncabulldogs.com. Fans need to click on the Multimedia tab and then go to live video.

Asheville (0-1-0) hopes to even its worksheet on the young season but will face a tough test against a solid Catamount (1-0-0) club that already owns a road victory in the young season. WCU downed Campbell last weekend, 2-1. The Bulldogs lost their opening match of the season to ETSU on Sunday, 4-1.

First-year coach Michelle Demko looks for improvement with her young team on Friday.

"I know this is a rivalry game, but we need to stay focused for 90 minutes and execute our game-plan," stated Demko. "We're looking to get better in all phases of the game and avoid any fundamental breakdowns."

The teams tied last year, 0-0 in a match played at Western Carolina. Asheville is looking for its first win over the Catamounts since a 3-0 triumph in Cullowhee back in the 2004 season. WCU is 4-0-1 vs. the Bulldogs since the 2004 campaign.
