ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Big South power Winthrop won the doubles point and then cruised to wins in all six singles matches to down UNC Asheville 7-0 in women's tennis action at the Crowne Plaza Tennis Center Saturday afternoon.

The Bulldogs came close to winning at #6 singles as Louise Bottomley took Sara Abutovic to three sets before falling in a tie-breaker, 10-2. Bottomley won the second set 6-4.

Asheville (11-6, 3-3 BSC) plays next at Appalachian State on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
