Men's Tennis Edged by Lees-McRae, 4-3

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville men's tennis team was able to capture the doubles point but lost four singles matches in three sets as Lees-McRae edged the Bulldogs 4-3 at the Crowne Plaza Tennis Center Sunday evening.
The marathon match started at 3:30 p.m. and didn't end until 11:15 p.m. Asheville fell to 1-1 on the season. The Bobcats, ranked nationally at 16th in the latest NCAA Division II poll, evened their record at 1-1.
In singles, Jonas Brobeck of Asheville won a three-set match over Travis Vanhoy, 7-6, 6-7, 7-6. Niicolai Nonnenbroich picked up a win for the Bulldogs in singles as he rallied for a 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 victory over Steve Karendal.
Asheville plays against at Southern Conference power Furman on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m.
