GREENSBORO, N.C. - UNC Greensboro captured the doubles point and won the top three singles flights to slip past UNC Asheville, 4-3 in women's tennis action Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs (1-2) were able to get singles victories from Devon Cavanaugh, Nicole Schon and Louise Bottomley but just couldn't get another one as Asheville lost its first one-set match of the season.
The doubles team of Leslie Smith and Stephanie Schon won their match when their opponents had to retire due to an injury.
The Bulldogs are back in action Sunday afternoon against Lees-McRae at home. The match will be played at the Crowne Plaza Tennis Resort will start at 3 p.m.
