Bulldog Harriers Finish Season at SE Regional at Louisville

LOUISVILLE, KY. - The UNC Asheville women's cross country and two members of the men's cross country team participated in the Southeast Regional Meet Saturday morning at Sawyer State Park in Louisville.
Sophomore Melanie Kulesz finished up her season with a strong race in the 6K event. She ran a time of 22:33 which is the sixth best time in school history for a 6K race.
On the men's side, Jay Barringer set a personal best in the 10K as he finished the course in a time of 33:58. Freshman Nick Summers also ran a strong race as he finished with a time of 34:41.
The women's team had most of its team run in the race as the Bulldogs finished 31st. Freshman Rachel Carson posted a time of 23:25, while Emma Bussard was next at 23:31. Clair Powell had a time of 23:46.
Alyska Kalmeijer finished with a time of 24:15. Erin Putnam had a time of 25:08. Jennifer Black rounded out the Bulldog performers at 26:25.
"We had some good results at Louisville," commented Bulldog coach Jesse Norman. "I was happy for Jay Barringer to post such a good time. Melanie Kulesz ran a solid race, as well."
