Bulldogs Fall to Presbyterian College 65-54

The Bulldogs (5-11, 1-3 BSC) were led by a career-high 15 points from Grace Blaylock. The freshman guard knocked down three 3-pointers and went 6-of-7 from the free throw line. Lindsey Montgomery just missed a double-double as she finished with nine points and 10 rebounds.
Asheville shot just 31 percent (17-of-55) from the field. The Blue Hose (2-12, 1-1 BSC) shot a season-high 52 percent (22-of-42) from the field.
The Bulldogs went ice cold late in the first half as allowed the home team to lead 30-17 at halftime. Asheville finished the opening half at 27 percent (6-of-22) shooting from the field, while PC shot 50 percent (12-of-24) from the field.
The Bulldogs trailed by as many as 17 early in the second half before making a run, scoring nine straight points to close to seven at 45-38 on a Montgomery lay-up with seven minutes left. But Mills sank a long three-pointer on the next possessions to put the Blue Hose up 48-38 and Asheville could get no closer.
Asheville won the rebound battle with a 35-31 advantage. Kendall Shepard had eight points and four assists.
UNC Asheville continues its road trip this weekend with two games in the state of Virginia. The Bulldogs play at Radford Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m., followed by a contest at defending Big South Conference champion Liberty next Monday at 7 p.m.
