Tom Smith to Throw Out First Pitch at Asheville Tourists Game on Wednesday Night

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Newly hired UNC Asheville baseball coach Tom Smith will throw out the first pitch at tonight's Asheville Tourists game at McCormick Field. The Tourists face the Augusta Green Jackets and the game will start at 7:05 p.m. Smith will throw the first pitch at approximately 6:50 p.m.
The Asheville Tourists have one former Bulldog on this year's team in right-handed pitcher Alan DeRatt. DeRatt was coached by Smith during the 2008 season when he served as an assistant coach with the UNC Asheville program.
