Women's Tennis Sweeps Brevard

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville women's tennis team swept its second straight match as it defeated Brevard 7-0 at the Crowne Plaza Tennis Center Monday afternoon.

The match was originally scheduled to take place on Brevard's campus, it was moved indoors to the Crowne Plaza due to cold and rainy weather in the area.

Asheville won all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point.

The Bulldogs won all six singles matches. Leslie Smith played in the closest match of the day as she defeated Lindsay Schaeffer 6-0, 6-7, 6-3 in the No. 1 match.

Asheville improves to 11-6 with the win, while Brevard moves to 14-5.

The Bulldogs return to the courts on Wednesday as they will take on Tennessee Tech at 2 p.m. at the Asheville School. Admission is free.
