Men's Tennis to Face Coastal Carolina in Big South Championships

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The sixth-seeded UNC Asheville men's tennis
team will face #3 Coastal Carolina at the Big South Men's Tennis
Championships Thursday afternoon at Winthrop University.
The Bulldogs finished the regular season with a 5-15 overall record and a 0-6 record in the Big South. CCU enters the match with a 15-5 overall record and a 4-2 conference record.
When both teams met in the regular season, the Chanticleers prevailed with a 4-3 victory. The Bulldogs won the doubles point, but Coastal Carolina won four of the six singles matches to secure the overall match victory. Senior Mauricio Correa fell to German Perez 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 in the clinching match. The loss was one of six 4-3 defeats suffered by the Bulldogs this season.
Thursday's match is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at the Winthrop Memorial Courts.
