Asheville (3-5-1, 0-2-0 BSC) is coming off a frustrating weekend in the state of Virginia. The Bulldogs fell at defending Big South champ Radford last Friday, 1-0 and then lost at VMI on Sunday, 2-0. Asheville out-shot the Highlanders 8-4 on Friday and had 15 shots at VMI. The Bulldogs controlled and dominated much of the two matches but could not score.
"It was a frustrating weekend," stated Asheville coach Michele Cornish. "We were able to generate some offense but you have to score. You have to put the ball into the back of the net. We have to do a better job of scoring goals than we've done so far this season."
The Blue Hose enter Saturday's match with a 3-7-0 overall record and 0-2 mark in league play.
"Presbyterian is improved from last season, so we're going to have to be ready to play from the start and score some goals," declared Cornish. "We need to shore some things up elsewhere but the main focus for us are to score some goals."
Asheville defeated Presbyterian last year 4-1 behind two goals and two assists from McKenna Stockhausen.
NOTES - The Bulldogs have been shutout in three straight matches...eight of Asheville's nine matches have been one-goal affairs this season...Stockhausen missed three weeks due to an ankle injury before returning last weekend...the Bulldogs have not played at home since a 2-1 win over Tennessee Tech on Sept. 13.
