Bulldogs Suffer First Conference loss at Coastal Carolina 3-2

UNC Asheville (18-6, 7-1 Big South) saw a season-high seven-match win streak come to an end but the Bulldogs remain in first place in the Big South after the first trip through the league.
Coastal Carolina (12-9, 6-2 Big South) is a part of a three-way tie for second place in the league with Liberty and Winthrop.
Kelsey Benorden had 19 kills and 13 digs for her 10th double-double of the season. Cindi Miller had 17 kills, Lauren Ficker had 15 kills, and Jenna Dover added 10 kills for the Bulldogs who lost for the first time this season on its opponents' home court.
Megan Bickford and Chelsy Kimes each had 15 kills for the Chanticleers. Amanda Russell added a season-high 11 kills and Sierra Livesay added 10 kills as Coastal out-hit Asheville .222 to .193 in the match.
Raquel Miotto led all players in the match with 26 digs and moved into seventh place on the NCAA all-time career digs list with 2,440 career digs.
UNC Asheville will step out of conference on Tuesday night to host East Tennessee State at the Justice Center. The 7 p.m. match can be seen live on the Big South Network.
