MURRAY, KY. - Ninety minutes wasn't enough time to decide a winner today from Cutchin Field in Murray, Ky. As the two teams battled through two sudden-death overtimes, it turns out that 110 minutes also wasn't enough time, as the University of Tennessee at Martin Skyhawks and UNC Asheville match ended in a 0-0 tie.

It was the Bulldogs (0-3-1) first point of the season. UNC Asheville goalkeeper Veronica Lazar was spectaular for the Bulldogs. She made 13 saves in the game, including 10 in the first half. She and freshman Mary Kate Tucker earned a spot on the all-tournament team.

The Skyhawk offense continually attacked the goal during the first half, with 10 of their 13 shots being on goal, including the first six. Throughout the match, the offense had several near-misses, including two shots by Sophie Cox that hit the left post (2nd half) and the cross bar (1st overtime).

The UT Martin defense didn't allow a shot attempt until the 65th minute, and the Bulldogs first shot on goal didn't come until the second overtime period (103rd minute). Katy Beeler's shot was saved on a diving stop by Skyhawk goalkeeper Johanna Rathbun. Rathbun ended the Racer-Hampton Inn Classic with zero goals allowed in 200 minutes in goal.

The Skyhawks dodged a couple of huge bullets on direct kicks in double overtime. Asheville's Robyn Busha's direct kick from the top of the box hooked left of the goal in the first minutes of the second overtime period, and Juliana Duncan's direct kick from 35 yards straight on sailed high in the 108th minute.

UNC Asheville plays next at defending Southern Conference champion Furman Wednesday night at 6 p.m.
