ASHEVILLE, N.C. ? The UNC Asheville women's soccer team heads to the road this weekend to Murray State as the Bulldogs will take part in the Hampton Inn Classic that will be played on Friday and Sunday.
Michele Cornish's club battles host Murray State on Friday at 4:30 p.m. CST. The Lady Racers are 2-2 on the season and bring a two-game winning streak into the tournament. The Bulldogs are seeking their first win of the season and are 0-2 after an 8-0 loss at national power Clemson on Sunday.
“It is a long season and we're just trying to get better with each practice,” stated Cornish. “We know this will be a challenging tournament but we're looking forward to playing some teams that we've never faced before.”
Asheville is off on Saturday and faces UT-Martin on Sunday at 12 p.m. CST. The Skyhawks are 2-1 on the season after a 1-0 victory over Mississippi Valley State last weekend.
