McKenna Stockhausen Named Big South Player of the Week

09.23.2008 | Women's Soccer

CHARLOTTE, N.C. ? UNC Asheville junior McKenna Stockhausen has been selected as the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Women's Soccer Player of the Week for games played Sept. 15-21, it was announced today by the League office.

Stockhausen had a remarkable week last week, with a hand in all four of the Bulldogs' goals during the 4-1 win over Big South member Presbyterian in their first Conference match of the season.  Stockhausen found the back of the net in the 25th minute, then assisted Robyn Busha four minutes later to make the score 2-0.  In the second half, Stockhausen assisted teammate Juliana Duncan, and then sealed the win with an unassisted goal off a rebound with two minutes left to play.  Stockhausen's two goals and two assists matched her season totals from all of last year.

Stockhausen joins men's soccer player Bryan George as the second UNC Asheville athlete to be named Big South Player of the Week for Sept. 15-21.
