ASHEVILLE, N.C.?Betsy Blose and her UNC Asheville staff will be hosting a Special Olympics Clinic on Monday, June 23, at the Justice Center beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Coach Blose and her staff are currently in the middle of their summer camps but will take time to devote to area Special Olympics after camp on Monday. The clinic will involve stations on ball handling, shooting, passing, and basic basketball skills.

“We, as a staff, have been involved with Special Olympics at both the local and national levels and this is a great opportunity to add something special to camp,” said Coach Blose. “Our players and coaches have volunteered with the Special Olympic Track and Field State Event each spring and for the past four years we have worked with Special Olympic Basketball players at the Final Fours in Boston, Cleveland, Tampa, and San Antonio.”

Area Western Carolina Special Olympians are encouraged to participate in the clinic to improve their basketball abilities. For more information contact Katie Baldwin at (828) 251-6905.
