Katie Baldwin begins her second year of service to the UNC Asheville coaching staff. Last year, Baldwin served as a Student-Assistant before being elevated to an assistant coaching spot last summer.
“I’m really glad to have Katie with us again this year,” stated Bulldog head coach Betsy Blose. “She did a great job for us as a player and is hard-working member of our coaching staff.”
Baldwin was a three-year letterwinner for the Bulldogs after she transferred from St. Franics College in New York. The Virginia native enjoyed a solid career for UNC Asheville. In the 2006-07 season, Baldwin was a starter for the Bulldog team that won the Big South Conference championship. She averaged seven points per game and was second on team in three-pointers made with 46. Baldwin hit some big shots in the Bulldogs’ championship run.
Katie had a stellar high school career at Loudoun County HS in Leesburg, Va. She finished her career as the school’s second all-time leading scorer with 1,326 points. Baldwin holds career school records for points per game and free throws.
