Mattison Goes 1-5 with a Run Scored in Jammers Debut

ASHEVILLE, N.C.? UNC Asheville's Kevin Mattison made his professional baseball debut going 1-5 while starting in centerfield for the Jamestown Jammers on Monday night.

 

The Jammers, single-A short-season affiliate of the Florida Marlins, defeated the State College Spikes, affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, 7-6 on opening night of the New Your/Penn League in Jamestown, NY.

 

Mattison batted lead off for the Jammers and picked up his first professional hit as a part of a five-run seventh inning. Mattison singled to right field and scored on a grand slam home run by Ben Lasater.
