Schon Sisters Record Wins; Dogs Fall to Radford

RADFORD, Va.-- Stephanie and Nicole Schon each posted singles victories for UNC Asheville but the Bulldogs dropped their final regular season match 5-2 at Radford on Sunday.
With the threat of inclement weather, singles was played first. The teams split to open play as Paige Lindsley won at No. 2 for RU, while Nicole Schon picked up
After Stephanie Schon cut the gap to 3-2 with three-set win at No. 3, Downs clinched the match for the Highs with a 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 4.
Radford tallied the final point of the match, winning two of three in doubles. Price and Tomaic cruised to an 8-2 win at No. 2 and Spector and Mirna Matic clinched doubles with an 8-4 victory at No. 3. At No. 1, Leslie Smith and Stephanie Schon of Asheville won 9-8 (3) over Noldin and
Radford improves to 9-10 overall and 1-5 in the Big South while Asheville falls to 6-11 overall and 0-6 in the Big South. The Dogs will be the No. 7 seed in next weekend's Big South Tournament and will face No.2 seed Liberty on Thursday, April 17, at Noon.
