Pearson Leads Bulldog Track and Field at Coastal Carolina

CONWAY, S.C. ? Natalie Pearson took a second place finish in the 200 meters to highlight UNC Asheville's performance in the Bulldogs first Outdoor Track and Field meet of the season at the Coastal Carolina Invitational.
Pearson, who missed much of the Indoor season due to an injury, took second in the talented field with a time of 24.90. The sophomore also competed in the 100 meters and finished with a time of 12.35.
“It was good to get the first meet out of the way and there were some positives to take out of Saturday,” commented first-year coach Jesse Norman. “We got some of our injured back and that was a positive sign.

On the men's side, senior Omar Ahmad placed eighth in the long jump with a leap of 6.46 meters. The Bulldogs had three sprinters compete in the 100 and they were Dane Corriher (11.55), Ahmad (11.56) and Brandon Hamilton (11.64)
Corriher (22.96) and Hamilton (24.29) also competed in the 200 meters.
Corrie Trotter finished 15th against a strong field in the high jump with a leap of 1.55 meters.

Elizabeth Duncan placed 17th in the 800 meters at a time of
Andrew Burnette finished 16th in the 800 meters at
Daniel Corriher came in 18th against a large field in the shot put with a throw of 13.67 meters. Teammate Simon Haake had a throw of 10.27.
Corriher had a throw of 32.45 meters in the discus, while Haake threw 30.96 meters.
The Bulldogs compete next weekend in
