Bulldog Men Pick Up First Victory of the Season over Winston Salem State

ASHEVILLE, N.C. ? UNC Asheville men's tennis team earned its first victory of 2008 with a 7-0 sweep over Winston Salem State on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs are now 1-3 on the year while the Rams dropped to 1-12 on the season.
Asheville swept the doubles matches to take a quick 1-0 lead and continued its success in singles. At No. 1 Mauricio Correa defeated Brian Coxton 6-0, 6-1 and at No. 2 Tyler Begg puts away Maximillian Glodde 6-2, 6-1.
Joseph May shutout Ryan Lindquist in 6-0 straight sets at spot three, while Damien Snare defeated Troy Moore 6-2, 6-0. The Rams' Ian Hunter fell to Nicholas Thuell and Patrick Jenkins lost to Alexander Greer at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively, both falling 6-2, 6-0.
The Bulldogs will begin a three-match spring break road trip at UNC Wilmington on Monday, March 3, at 10 a.m.
