BOONE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed at the Appalachian Indoor Limited Open on Friday.
The highlight of the meet for the Bulldogs was the performance of sprinter Dane Corriher. He finished third in the 400 meters with a time of 50.82.
Duane Stepp took a 10th place finish in the 800-meter run at a time of 2:04. Daniel Corriher set a personal record in the shot put as he had a throw of 14.01 meters. That's the third best mark in school history.
On the women's side, Corrie Trotter finished ninth in the high jump with a leap of 1.45 meters.
"We had some good individual results but overall we have a lot of work to do before we get to the Big South Conference meet," commented UNC Asheville coach Jesse Norman. "I was happy for Dane and Daniel as they continue to improve."
Both Bulldog teams compete at the Clemson Invitational this Friday (Feb. 15).
