Indoor Track Teams to Compete at Big South Meet This Weekend

ASHEVILLE, N.C. ? The UNC Asheville Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field squads will compete in the Big South Conference Meet this Friday and Saturday at Clemson University. Admission is free. You can also watch a video-stream of the Big South Meet at www.bigsouthsports.com for a small fee.

Action gets under way Friday morning and continues through Saturday afternoon.

It's been an up-and-down year for both Bulldog teams as injuries have ravaged each club. First-year coach Jesse Norman is hopeful his teams can compete this weekend.

“It's been a tough year with our injuries, and we're not where I want to be at this point of the year,” stated Norman. “However, we've gotten a great effort each meet from the people who have been able to compete. That's what we're looking for this weekend. We'll see how we do and see how many points we can score.”

Senior distance runner Jon Harmon should compete for all-conference honors in the mile. He won the Liberty Invitational in the mile last month.

On the women's side, senior Emily Mase has won the mile twice this year, once at VMI and at UNC Chapel Hill.
