RADFORD, Va.? Arescia Moore recorded the first double-double of her career but UNC Asheville shot 23 percent from the floor and scored a season-low 49 points in a 68-49 loss at Radford Saturday afternoon.

Moore scored a team-high 11 points and grabbed a career-best 10 rebounds. Jessica Monroe had nine points and eight rebounds. Stacy Shepard had eight points and seven rebounds while Chioma Okoli had eight points and six rebounds for the Bulldogs (10-11, 1-3 Big South) who finished the game with five eligible players. Leading scorer Ashton Barton fouled out scoring just three points. Two other players left the game with injuries.

Radford (16-7, 3-1 Big South) was led by Kelli Darden with 20 points and seven rebounds. Darden had four blocks in the game to become the Big South's all-time leader in blocked shots. Vandy Pullen had 14 points and Taleia Moton added 13 points for the Highlanders.

Radford jumped out to an 11-0 lead as Asheville did not get on the scoreboard until Ana Baker hit a three pointer five minutes and 13 seconds into the game. The Bulldogs scored a season-low 16 points while committing 18 turnovers in the first half.

Asheville got going from the free throw line in the second half, The Dogs went 17-for-22 from the foul line in the second period and pulled to within 14 points at 56-42 with 4:36 remaining in the game.

Radford shot 40 percent in the first half but only shot 25 percent in the second half. The Highlanders were 18-for-23 from the charity stripe in the game.

Asheville, the Big South leaders in rebounding, out-rebound Radford 57-42 and had a 19-2 advantage in second chance points. However, Radford held a 27-10 advantage in points off turnovers thanks to 28 turnovers for Asheville to just 11 Radford miscues.

Asheville's 49 points were the lowest the Bulldogs have scored in a regular season game since defeating Winthrop 49-47 on Feb. 14, 2006. The Bulldogs will host Winthrop on Wednesday night, Feb. 6, at the Justice Center. It is Asheville's Think Pink Game. Everyone who comes to the game wearing pink will be allowed free admission with a $2 donation to the Kay Yow Foundation. Coaches for both teams will be wearing pink CROCS during the game which begins at 7 p.m.
