Women's Soccer Loses at Liberty, 3-1

LYNCHBURG, Va. ? Amy Oberlin scored twice and added an assist as Liberty downed UNC Asheville, 3-1 in Big South Conference women ?s soccer action at Wetmore Soccer Stadium Saturday night.
The Bulldogs (5-9-1, 3-3-0 BSC) allowed Liberty to take a 2-0 halftime lead behind goals from Ashley Braam and Oberlin.
Oberlin added her second goal of the night midway through the second half to push the Flames' lead to 3-0.
UNC Asheville got on the scoreboard at the 75:50 mark when freshman Mary Kate Tucker scored the first goal of her career. She scored on a header off a pass from senior defender Juliana Duncan to cut the Liberty lead to 3-1.
Bulldog goalkeeper Veronica Lazar made eight saves for Asheville.
Liberty out-shot Asheville, 16-7 and had five corner kicks to two for the Bulldogs.
Asheville is off for the next 10 days before hosting VMI at Greenwood FIeld on Oct. 21 starting at 4 p.m.
