Track and Field Teams Are at Liberty Invitational This Weekend

LYNCHBURG, Va. - The UNC Asheville Indoor Men's and Women's Track and Field team will participate in the Liberty Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
The Bulldogs competed in the Niswonger Invitational at East Tennessee State last weekend and had several good results. First-year coach Jesse Norman is looking for more of the same this week.
"I really like what I saw last weekend at East Tennessee," commented Norman. "We had some good results and showed some real improvement from the previous week. We're looking to do the same at Liberty."
Asheville had great efforts from its distance teams as Emily Mase finished fifth in the 3,000 meters. Senior Jon Harmon also finished fifth in the 3,000.
Sophomore Keith Scruggs had a solid result in the men's weight throw as he throw a personal best of 12.75 meters.
In the mile, senior Ingrid Allstaedt took fifth at
Corrie Trotter did a nice job in the long jump as she finished 3rd with a jump of 4.91 meters.
