ASHEVILLE, N.C. ? Coastal Carolina scored twice in the second half to break a scoreless tie and went on to record a 2-0 Big South Conference women's soccer victory over homestanding UNC Asheville Saturday afternoon at Greenwood Field.

“We can't win if we don't score,” commented UNC Asheville coach Michele Cornish. “We just did not get the job done on offense today.”
The scoreless tie was broken in the 60th minute when Maegen Helleberg scored her first goal of the season on a 15-yard blast. Helleberg took a pass from Amanda Gelsomino and tucked the ball into the left corner of the net for a 1-0 Chanticleer lead.
CCU picked up an insurance goal at 74:04 mark when Ashleigh Gunning scored her team-leading 10th goal of the season on a 20-yard blast to push the lead to 2-0.
Those two goals would be more than enough for freshman goalkeeper Amy Haggard. She picked up her seventh win of the season and third shutout with three saves.
