Women's Soccer Hosts Coastal Carolina in Big South Opener

UNC Asheville (2-7) has struggled with some injuries and did not have the non-conference season it wanted. The Bulldogs have not played since a 2-0 loss to Francis Marion on Sept. 26.
“We're approaching conference play as a new season,” commented UNC Asheville coach Michele Cornish. “We've had some time off and had some good practices. We're looking forward to getting started in Big South Conference play.”

“They have a good offense and seem to be shutting teams down on defense.”
The Bulldogs hope to get going on offense and are being led by this year by forwards Joy Haynes and Robyn Busha. Busha and Haynes have each scored four goals each.
“We've played better on offense in recent matches but in a few of them we have not done a good job finishing,” explained Cornish. “Last time against Francis Marion, we had some great opportunities to score and just didn't do it. We simply need to find the back of the net.”
