RADFORD, Va. - Elif Unlu recorded 23 kills and 12 digs and Ashley Wrightenberry had 14 kills to lead UNC Asheville to a 22-30, 30-26, 30-23, 30-27 victory at Radford Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs (11-15, 8-3 Big South) sweep the season series against the Highlanders (7-15, 3-7 Big South) winning both matches in four games after losing game one.
The Bulldogs hit a paltry .071 in the first game but responded by hitting .273 the rest of the match and finished the match hitting .227. Unlu recorded her 17th double-double of the season and now has 10 matches with over 20 kills. Wrightenberry reached double figures for the first time in seven matches.
Raquel Miotto recorded a match-high 25 digs giving her 5.57 digs per game for the season. Bridget Holiday and Shannen Bagge had 14 and 10 digs respectively.
Radford was led by Lindsey Wheeler with 13 kills. Lauren Clary had 12 kills and Lexi Miller added 11 kills for the Highlanders. Rachel Newton had 19 digs while Lindsay Rupert and Josie Hanners each had 15 digs.
Asheville will continue its road trip at Charleston Southern on Friday in a 7 p.m. match.
