Evan Dodd
Dodd will enter his second season on Honey Brown's staff in 2023-24, after helping the Bulldogs to 11 wins with seven of them coming in Big South Conference play. Dodd worked primarily on the defensive end, coaching a squad that finished second in the Big South Conference and 34th in the nation in three-point shooting defense holding opponents to 27.7 percent from long range.

Head Coach Honey Brown announced the addition of Evan Dodd to her coaching staff on May 17, 2022. Dodd joins the Bulldogs from the University of Indianapolis, where he had been an assistant coach for the last four years.

"I am excited to welcome Evan to our staff! I love versatility in our players and on my staff and Evan has shown that his whole career," Brown said of Dodd. "His value of no task is too small and no challenge is too big is a huge reason I hired him. Evan will work with both guards and posts in player development. We all do a ton of recruiting on staff but Evan will be the lead in organizing many aspects in that area. Our team and Bulldog fans will value his tireless work ethic and will really enjoy his positive mindset. Known as being a sponge from many colleagues in this business I expect Evan to hit the ground running when he joins us early June."

Prior to his tenure with the Greyhounds, Dodd got his coaching start at Indiana State, working as a graduate assistant for two years. In 2017, Dodd was elevated to assistant coach for the Sycamores, coaching the post players and helping guide Wendi Bibbins to first team All-Missouri Valley Conference honors. Attending Indiana State for both undergraduate and graduate school, Dodd has a bachelor's in physical education and master's in sport management. Before his collegiate days, Dodd was a standout player in high school, earning multiple all-conference awards and scoring over 1,000 points. In addition to his coaching duties at Indianapolis, Dodd served as the recruiting coordinator for the Greyhounds, and was recognized by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association as one of its "Thirty Under 30" honorees after the 2020-21 season.

"I'm extremely grateful for Coach Brown for giving me this opportunity to join the UNC Asheville family," said Dodd. "Her character and knowledge of the game are some of the many reasons which makes this program so great to be a part of. It's a privilege to be a Bulldog. I'm ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work!"
