Brooke Johnson begins her first season in Asheville. Johnson joins the Bulldog coach staff after spending last year at St. Andrews Presbyterian College in Laurinburg, S.C., where along with court coaching, she was the recruiting coordinator and was in of charge pre and post season individual development, condidtioning, and weight prgrams. She also served as co-summer camp director and supervisior of team managers.
Prior to her stop at St. Andrews, she was Director of Basketball Operations at East Carolina during the 2005-06 year. She coordinated and budgeted team travel and assisted with coordination of preseason conditioning and summer camps.
Johnson enjoyed an excellent playing career at Peace College in Raleigh. She set eight school records and had her number retired following her career. In addition, Johnson led all of Division III her senior year in assists. She also recieved the North Carolina House of Representative Certificate of Athletic and Academic Excellence which was presented to her by House member Stephen LaRoque.
"We’re excited Brooke has decided to join our staff," stated Blose. "She was an outstanding collegiate player and comes from a basketball family. Her experiences with AAU coaching in North Carolina, a swell as her time with East Carolina and St. Andrews will serve her well. We are glad Brooke is part of our Bulldog family."
Johnson earned a Masters of Arts from East Carolina in May of 2006 and recieved her Bacholor’s of Arts degree from Peace College in 2004.
