2023-24 Season (Freshman) - In his freshman debut, Matthews competed in the high jump, triple jump and long jump in both indoor and outdoor seasons, across 10 meets...He only competed in the long jump and triple jump in indoor season and had a PR of 6.47m in the long jump at the Big South Conference Indoor Championships and had his best triple jump distance of 13.70m at the indoor championships as well...During outdoor season, he had PRs in the triple jump at the outdoor championships with a distance of 13.85m and placed fourth, and 1.78m in the high jump at 1.78m.
