Fall 2021 Season (Senior) - In her final season running for the Bulldogs, Appleton had a stellar season competing in six races...Her top performance came at the Fire Tower Open where she logged a time of 17:48.9, which set a new personal-best 5K time...She also placed 13th at the Upstate Invitational where she clocked in at 18:59.0...Ran for Asheville at the Big South Cross Country Championships where she placed 27th with a time of 19:09.0...Closed out her cross country career as a Bulldog at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships where she set a new personal-best time in a 6K race with a mark of 23:03.1...After the season, Appleton was named to the Big South's All-Academic Team for the third time in her career.
Spring 2021 Season (Junior) - As a junior, Appleton ran in a trio of cross country races during the unique spring season in 2021...Appleton was one of Asheville's most consistent runners placing in the top 14 in every race during the spring campaign...Logged her second top five finish as a collegiate runner at the Highlander Invitational (5th - 18:32.1)...Closed out her junior campaign by setting a new personal-best time in a 5K race checking in at 18:28.9 at the Big South Cross Country Championships...For the second time in her career, Appleton was named to the Big South's All-Academic team for her work as a student.
2019 Season (Sophomore) - During her sophomore season in 2019, Appleton competed in six races for the Bulldogs...Picked up her first top-five finish of her collegiate career by placing fourth at the Montreat-UNCA Dual on September 14...Like in 2018, Appleton closed out her season at the Big South and NCAA Southeast Championship races...Appleton finished 37th among Big South runners with a time of 20:03.3 and set a new personal-best 6K time at the NCAA race clocking in at 23:57.2...Additionally, Appleton was recognized for her work in the classroom by being named to the Big South All-Academic Team.
2018 Season (Freshman) - As a freshman, Appleton appeared in five races for Asheville...She made her collegiate cross country debut on August 31, 2018 at the Covered Bridge Cross Country Open...Appleton logged one top-10 finish as a freshman and that came at the UNCA Cross Country Invitational (8th - 20:00.0)...Appleton also closed out her first season as a Bulldog running at the Big South Cross Country Championships and the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships...At the conference meet, Appleton placed 47th with a time of 20:56.0...At the NCAA's 6K race, Appleton clocked in at 23:59.0.
Prior to UNC Asheville - Earned eight letters in cross country and track and field ... Was part of Outdoor Track and Field district championship teams in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 ... Also part of 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 cross country district championship teams ... Was named All-State in cross country ... She won the Keith Jones Award and was also selected as an Outstanding Track and Field Athlete in her district ... Appleton was also named All-Academic in women's soccer.
