2021 Season (Junior) - In the fall of 2021, McVay competed in six cross country races for the Bulldogs...She set a new personal-best time in the 5K in mid-September clocking in at 19:46.6...Ran for Asheville at the Big South Cross Country Championships where she placed 48th with a time of 20:20.0...Also took to the course for Asheville at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships where she logged a time of 24:10.3.
Spring 2021 Season (Junior) - During the unique spring season in 2021, McVay ran in each of Asheville's three races...Placed a season-best 20th at the Highlander Invitational with a time of 20:36.2...McVay closed out the abbreviated spring season by running at the Big South Cross Country Championships...Set a new personal-best in a 5K race at the Championships with a time of 20:20.3, which placed McVay 41st amongst the field.
2019 Season (Sophomore) - McVay competed in six cross country races during her sophomore campaign in 2019...McVay's top finish of the season came at the Montreat-UNCA Dual in mid-September placing 15th with a time of 21:27.0...Competed at the 2019 Big South Cross Country Championships where she placed 61st in the field with a time of 21:19.2...McVay closed out her sophomore season by running for the Bulldogs at the NCAA Division I Southeast Region Championships...In the 6K race, McVay clocked in at 25:46.7.
2018 Season (Freshman) - McVay appeared in two cross country meets during her first season as a Bulldog in 2018...She made her collegiate debut at the UNCA Cross Country Invitational on September 21, 2018 where she finished 40th with a time of 22:20.7...Also ran in the Montreat Open in early November and placed 14th.
Before UNC Asheville - Lettered in swimming, cross country and track and field ... Part of NCHSAA 3A West Regional district championship team (2015 and 2016) ... Received the cross country coaches' award in 2016 and was named the 2017 cross country MVP ... Was a state qualifier in the 800m ... Finished in the top-10 of high school class.
