Jensen and Callipo Earn Big South Setters of the Week Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Elise Jensen and Olivia Callipo have earned Big South Setters of the Week honors following their performance this past week. The announcement was made by the Big South office on Monday (Sept. 28).
The duo combined for 93 assists and 46 digs across nine sets during the week. Asheville closed nonconference play against Queens on Tuesday (Sept. 22) before opening Big South action with a five-set road victory over USC Upstate (Sept. 25).
Callipo totaled 52 assists, 29 digs and four service aces across the two matches. She opened the week with 22 assists and 13 digs against Queens before turning in an all-around performance in Asheville's conference opener at USC Upstate. Callipo recorded 30 assists, 16 digs and four service aces.
Jensen added 41 assists and 17 digs during the week. She finished with 15 assists, nine digs and two service aces against Queens before helping guide the Bulldog offense with 26 assists and eight digs against USC Upstate.
Together, Callipo and Jensen helped Asheville produce 69 kills and a .263 hitting percentage in Friday's victory at USC Upstate.
On the season, Jensen leads the Bulldogs with 329 assists, while Callipo follows with 284 assists.
The Bulldogs return to action Friday and Saturday, Oct. 2-3, inside the Justice Center. Asheville hosts Radford on Friday at 6 p.m. before welcoming High Point on Saturday at 4 p.m.
