London Phoenix Earns Big South Conference Freshman of the Week Honors

FULL BIG SOUTH CONFERENCE RELEASE

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Women's Soccer goalkeeper London Phoenix has earned Big South Conference Freshman of the Week honors, announced by the league today (Monday, Sept. 28).

Phoenix picked up her third clean sheet of the season with five saves in a 1-0 win over High Point on Saturday (Sept. 26). The victory was Asheville's first win over High Point since 2017 and Asheville is now 2-0-0 in conference play for the first time since 2008.

This is Phoenix's second career Freshman of the Week honor. The Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. native is a health sciences major.

The Bulldogs (5-3-3, 2-0-0 Big South) return to action on Wednesday (Sept. 30) at Radford in Big South Conference action. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. from Radford, Va. with video and live stats available at www.uncabulldogs.com.
