Four Men's Soccer Bulldogs Named to Big South Conference Midseason Watch List

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Four UNC Asheville Men's Soccer players have been named to the Big South Conference Midseason Watch List, announced by the league today (Thursday, Sept. 17).  
 
Graduate student midfielder Woody Angell, senior midfielder Charlie Wood, senior defender Lennart Granzow and senior defender Ian Smith were all named to the list for Asheville.
 
Angell has played and started in all seven matches on the season for the Bulldogs, scoring two goals on the season for four points.
 
Angell is a native of Alton, England.
 
Wood has played and started in all seven matches so far this season for Asheville, having tallied one assist so far on the season. Wood was also named to the 2026 Big South Conference Top Returners Watch List.
 
Wood is a native of Addingham, U.K. and is a health science major.
 
Granzow has played and started in all seven matches for this season, with a goal and an assist on the season for three points. Granzow was named the Preseason Co-Defensive Player of the Year earning a spot on the Big South Conference Top Returners Watch List prior to the season. After his game-winning goal against Northern Kentucky, Granzow earned Big South Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors.
 
Granzow is a native of Hamburg, Germany and is a business administration major.
 
Smith has appeared in all seven matches making five starts on the season, scoring twice and tallying an assist for five points on the season.
 
Smith is a native of Kaiserslautern, Germany and is a double major in business and economics.
 
The Bulldogs (5-1-1) return to action on Saturday (Sept. 19) to open Big South Conference play against Longwood. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. from Greenwood Field, with video and live stats available at www.uncabulldogs.com.
