Track & Field Sweeps Freshman of the Week Awards

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Marika Dickel of the women's team and Demorris Jordan of the men's team represented UNC Asheville as they were named Big South Track & Field Female and Male Athletes of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday (April 15).
Dickel placed second in the 3,000m steeplechase at the Bulldog Invite, clocking a time of 11:32.56 in her collegiate debut—good for fourth all-time in program history.
Jordan finished as the runner-up in the 200m at the Bulldog Invite with a personal-best time of 21.27 seconds, the fifth-fastest mark in the conference this season. He also placed third in the 100m dash (10.51) and helped the Bulldogs' 4x100m relay team to a second-place finish (41.06). His 200m time ranks No. 4 in program history.
The Bulldogs return to action April 24–25 at the Catamount Classic in Cullowhee, N.C.
