Bulldogs Get Back in the Win Column with 5-2 Victory over Belmont Abbey

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Men's Tennis got back in the win column with a 5-2 victory over Belmont Abbey on Saturday (Mar. 28) at Asheville School.

The Bulldogs swept doubles play for a 1-0 lead, before winning four out of six singles matches to secure the win.

Jip Mens and Cian Ingles teamed up for a 7-5 win at No. 1 doubles over Joel Lamotte and Aarav Hada, before Griffin Lovern and Harrison Cooper beat Nicholas Rizzo and Brody Sawyer 6-4 at No. 2 doubles. Leo Kolbe and Daniel Franco-Key would team up for a 6-4 win at No. 3 over Samuel McGregor and Joshua Mayhew to complete the doubles sweep.

Mens would beat Marcus Bergelin 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, before Belmont Abbey would pick up a win at No. 2 singles. Ingles beat Rizzo 6-3, 7-5 at No. 3 singles, before Trevor Gray would defeat Ryan Nguyen 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4. Belmont Abbey earned a win at No. 5, before Martin Fuks would close things out with a 7-5, 7-6 (7-2) win at No. 6.
