Bulldogs Cap Off Undefeated Spring Break with 4-2 Win over Marquette on Thursday

ORLANDO, Fla. - UNC Asheville Men's Tennis capped off an undefeated Spring Break trip with a 4-2 win over Marquette on Thursday (Mar. 12). The Bulldogs are now on a five-match winning streak, the longest for the program since the 2024 season.

Asheville won the doubles point with two wins in doubles play, before taking three matches in singles play to secure the win.

Jip Mens and Cian Ingles began doubles play with a 6-3 win at No. 2 over Kristian Blagoev and Ivan Vazquez, before Marquette knotted the action with a win at No. 3 doubles. Griffin Lovern and Harrison Cooper clinched the doubles win with a 7-5 victory over Remi St. Laurent and Blake Roegner at No. 1.

Big South Conference Freshman of the Week Daniel Franco-Key put the Bulldogs up 2-1 with a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles over Clayton Anderson, before Mens dispatched Roegner 6-1, 6-4 at No. 1. Cooper clinched the match for the Bulldogs with a 7-5, 6-2 win over St. Laurent at No. 4, before Marquette earned wins at No. 5 and No. 6 to bring the match to its final score.
