CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Daniel Franco-Key of UNC Asheville Men's Tennis has been named the Big South Conference Freshman of the Week, announced by the league today (Wednesday, Mar. 11).

Asheville won its only match last week 5-2 over Stonehill, with Franco-Key winning in both doubles and singles. He teamed up with Leo Kolbe for a 6-4 win at No. 3 doubles, before winning 7-6, 6-1 at No. 3 singles to clinch the match.

This is Franco-Key's first career Freshman of the Week honor. The Wrentham, England native is a business major.

The Bulldogs (7-4) return to action on Thursday (Mar. 12) to face Marquette. First serve is set for 11:00 a.m. from the USTA National Training Complex.
