Kameron Taylor Closes Regular Season with Co-Player of the Week Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – UNC Asheville men's basketball's Kameron Taylor has been named Big South Conference Co-Player of the Week, the league office announced Sunday (March 1). 

Taylor helped lead Asheville to a 77-71 victory over Gardner-Webb on Thursday (Feb. 26), pouring in 24 points — including 17 in the second half — while adding eight rebounds and five assists to lead the team in all three categories. He shot 8-of-16 from the field and went 7-of-12 from the free-throw line.

Against Charleston Southern on Saturday, Taylor delivered a career night with 35 points, the most by a Bulldog since Drew Pember scored 36 on Feb. 3, 2024. Taylor finished 12-of-22 from the floor, 3-of-7 from beyond the arc, and 8-of-12 at the stripe, while also tallying a team-high five rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block.

The sophomore from Charlotte, N.C., closed conference play averaging 21.7 points per game.

Taylor and No. 4 Asheville return to action Friday (March 6) in the quarterfinal round of the Air Force Reserve Big South Conference Championship, taking on No. 5 Longwood at 6 p.m. inside the Freedom Hall Civic Center in Johnson City, Tennessee.
