Bulldogs Record Third Straight Shutout with 7-0 Win over Mars Hill

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Men's Tennis recorded its third straight shutout with a 7-0 win over Mars Hill on Thursday (Feb. 12). This marks the first time since 2024 that Asheville has registered three straight shutouts.
 
Asheville swept doubles play to win the doubles point, before going on to sweep singles play for the shutout.
 
Griffin Lovern and Harrison Cooper defeated Riccardo Moretti and Paul-Antoine Pelzer 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, while Jip Mens and Trevor Gray would beat Dylan Wilson and Yasen Kehayaminchev 6-3 at No. 2 doubles. Luke Ruecker and Leo Kolbe would go on to beat Sirac Aslan and Ishamael Dowuoua 6-2 at No. 3 to complete the doubles sweep.
 
Daniel Franco-Key posted a 6-2, 6-1 over Wilson at No. 1 singles, before Mens beat Kehayaminchev 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2. Ingles would go on to blank Alsan 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3, before Martin Fuks would grind out a 6-4, 2-6, 10-8 win over Morretti at No. 4. Gray posted a win by retirement at No. 5, while Ruecker then beat Diell Mehmedi 6-1, 6-3 at No. 6.
