Kameron Taylor Earns Co-Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –
Kameron Taylor of the UNC Asheville men's basketball team has been named the Big South Conference Co-Player of the Week, the league announced Monday (Jan. 12), following a standout week of play.

Taylor helped lead Asheville to a perfect 2–0 week, pacing the Bulldogs in scoring in both contests. The sophomore poured in 24 points on Wednesday before nearly matching his career high with a team-best 27 points on Saturday.

Over the two games, Taylor shot 16-of-34 from the field (47.1 percent), including 4-of-9 from three-point range, and went 15-of-20 from the free-throw line. He also totaled 10 rebounds, six assists, and three steals.

Nationally, Taylor ranked 19th in total points scored (51) and 33rd in free throws made (15) for the week.

On the season, Taylor leads Asheville with an average of 17.2 points per game and tops the team in both free throws made (87) and assists (58). Through four conference games, he is averaging 23.3 points per game in Big South play.

Taylor and the Bulldogs return to the court on Wednesday, as Asheville travels to play Presbyterian at 7 p.m. in Clinton, S.C.
