ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Ron and Nancy Edgerton have made a second leadership gift toward UNC Asheville's new on-campus tennis center, announced today (Wednesday, July 30) by Director of Athletics Janet R. Cone.

The Edgertons previously made a gift to name the Head Women's Tennis Office in honor of recently retired Coach Lise Gregory. Their second gift will name one of the courts the Edgerton Family Tennis Court. The Edgertons' daughter-in-law is the former Lauren Brooker, who played tennis for UNC Asheville and Coach Gregory from 2014 to 2017 and also served as an assistant coach.

"Since learning about this important campus and community project, Ron and Nancy Edgerton have shown great interest in supporting our efforts to sustain championship-level Men's and Women's Tennis programs," said Cone. "Their second leadership gift to our on-campus tennis center is a testament to their continued commitment to Asheville's university. On behalf of our student-athletes and coaches, I want to sincerely thank them for their generosity and for helping us Dream Bigger and Achieve More."

The announcement of the on-campus tennis facility was made on July 18, 2024, as a part of the ALL IN Comprehensive Campaign.
